Our Team
Governor Bob Riley
Governor Riley was elected in 2002 as the 52nd Governor of Alabama, after serving three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives as the Congressman for Alabama’s Third District. He was a member of the House Armed Services Committee, and was the first Republican to win re-election in Congress and again as Governor in over a century. During his eight years leading Alabama, he was widely regarded as one of the most prolific job creators in the nation, taking the state to unprecedented heights of economic development. In 2002, Governor Riley was named “Public Official of the Year” by Governing Magazine. Additionally, he is often lauded as having the only administration in over 100 years to be completely free of scandal or impropriety. During his last year in office, Governor Riley led an ambitious effort called Campaign 2010, a plan with one simple goal: flip the Alabama Legislature from 136 years of Democrat control to Republican majorities. This endeavor was enormously successful, delivering supermajorities in both chambers of the State House, irrevocably changing the Alabama political landscape. He then founded and led Alabama 2014, a legislative leadership political action committee formed to increase the Republican supermajorities, an effort that was undeniably and overwhelmingly successful.
In 2011, Governor Bob Riley founded BR&A where he still leads our team as the firm’s President.
